About Ricardo

Architect by profession and photographer by passion, although I remember playing around with all the cameras in my house when I was a kid, it is not until 1992 when I discovered photography as a tool to present, expose and complement my designs projects and  concepts in architecture school, I remember layering images to create spaces and develop form.

It is without even realizing it that more than 10 years later I would find myself back in love with photography when the digital era made photography more accessible to everybody, even though I have never stop taking pictures it is in this era that I embrace photography as an art and began experimenting and learning from wherever, and whatever I could about photography, this took me to places like Cooper Union, NYU and the ICP where I furthered my training and then decided to merge my two passions in one, Architectural Photography, although I don’t always have the chance to photograph Architecture in a professional setting I always try to capture images around me.

Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, it is there that I took my first steps in photography, it is where I became an Architect, it is where I found love a made a family, but it is in the desire for a better future for us that we moved to the United States, when the opportunity was given to my wife to do her Internal Medicine residency,  this gave me the chance to think about a full crossover to Architectural Photography and that is my path right now.

Currently established in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, this allows me to cover easily all of the South East of the United States.
